ManagerKC CARE Health CenterKaley Garza, MSW, oversees the HIV Case Management Department at KC CARE Health Center (formerly the Kansas City Free Clinic). With more than 15 years’ experience as a practicing social worker, Kaley leads a team of two dozen medical case managers who specialize in helping individuals with HIV overcome barriers to receiving care. Kaley began her career in 2009 as a Linkage-to-Care Coordinator at KC CARE, providing guidance and support to individuals newly diagnosed with HIV and ensuring timely access to treatment.
In 2017, she became the Lead Linkage-to-Care Coordinator, and in 2020, she stepped into her current position as Manager of HIV Case Management. In this role, Kaley coordinates training and professional development opportunities for the HIV Case Management team and oversees continuous quality improvement projects in coordination with KC CARE’s medical providers and clinical staff to ensure optimum service delivery for patients with HIV. In addition to her duties as a supervisor, Kaley serves as a program lead for a complex portfolio of federal grants from the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Bureau of the Health Resources & Services Administration. In this capacity, she ensures timely execution of grant-funded activities, liaises with state and local health departments, and serves as the Chair of the Assessment and Comprehensive Planning Committee of the Kansas City Ryan White Transitional Grant Area Part A Planning Council. Kaley earned her Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Missouri and Master of Social Work degree from the University of Kansas. Among her many professional certifications, Kaley is trained in Mental Health First Aid and is a certified HIV Testing Trainer and Prevention Counselor. |
